Douglas N. Dreher joined The Hotel Group (THG) in 1989 and has held the position of President since 2002. He is responsible for all facets of the company which includes operations, financing, renovation, real estate acquisitions, new hotel development and strategic planning for THG's entire portfolio of managed and owned properties.

Prior to The Hotel Group, Mr. Dreher worked for Westin Hotels & Resorts at the 1,474-room Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. where he served in numerous management positions. His other management experience includes the Beverly Garland Hotel in North Hollywood, Calif. and several restaurants in the Pacific Northwest.

Upon joining The Hotel Group in 1989 as a General Manager, Dreher was quickly promoted to Regional Manager, supervising new construction projects in Nevada and Washington as well as properties in Arizona and California. In 1992 he was promoted to Vice President of Operations overseeing a multitude of projects including a resort in Washington State and the opening of a four-diamond hotel in Canada. Then in 1998, Dreher was promoted to Executive Vice President where he was in charge of hotel operations, marketing and development.

His hotel operations experience includes supervising over 70 hotels in 15 States and Canada. Dreher’s leadership experience comprised of a wide array of properties including resorts, four-diamond and four-star hotels, and independent properties. He has overseen 20 new developments during his tenure with The Hotel Group. His franchise background involves most major brands including Marriott, Hilton, Doubletree, Radisson, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn.

Dreher holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration from Washington State University (WSU) where he has served as a guest lecturer. Dreher was recently honored in 2007 as a distinguished alumnus for the 75th anniversary of the School of Hospitality Business Management at WSU for exemplary achievements in hospitality and contributions to WSU. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Dreher is 2008 Chairman of the AH&LA Multiunit Operators Council representing more than 80 lodging companies nationwide; and past Chairman for the Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association. In 2004 Dreher was recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal for the annual "40 under 40" distinguished leaders in the Puget Sound. He is a current member of the Lodging Industry Investment Council (LIIC), a think tank comprised of leading hotel and real estate executives which disseminates investment trends to the hospitality industry.
