Katherine Steed, director of marketing, knows the hospitality industry well, having begun her career at the age of 16 in a restaurant. After completing a four year summer work program with Disney World, she accepted an internship with Bristol Hotels at the Holiday Inn Select in Memphis, Tennessee. She then was assigned to the Hilton Knoxville, Tennessee where she was responsible for a variety of roles during her five year tenure.

THG purchased the property in 2003 and immediately recognized her talent by promoting her to director of sales. In 2004 she joined the corporate staff and now assists the owned properties with their sales, marketing and revenue management efforts.

What does she have to say about the industry? "I enjoy the fast-paced atmosphere. There is never a dull moment. I am constantly meeting new professionals in the industry and traveling to some of the most interesting cities in the nation. In a business where retention of guests and employees can make or break you, I'm ecstatic to be with a company that does so many things so well."

Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing golf and traveling.
